How We Help Veterans

We provide structured DVA funded recovery programs to help Veterans who experience addiction, mental health struggles and PTSD after leaving the armed services.

  1. Trauma Informed Care and Therapy

Byron Private has established a reputation for creating a reliable and effective recovery pathway for veterans dealing with PTSD, addiction, anxiety, and depression.

Our integrated approach combines medical, psychiatric and intensive therapy in a personalised treatment plan to address the unique needs of each veteran.

By focusing on evidence-based treatment, Byron Private ensures that clients receive the tools and strategies necessary for long-term recovery and well-being.

Our commitment to excellence and compassionate care has made us a trusted name in mental health and addiction recovery.

  2. Help with your DVA Application

We support veterans in completing their Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) funding application for treatment in our program. Our goal is to make the application process as straightforward as possible, allowing veterans to concentrate on their recovery and well-being.

We provide support and guidance to ensure that all necessary steps are completed efficiently. If you are ready to begin your recovery journey, contact us today.

For more information on how we can assist with your DVA-funded program, download the Byron Private veteran factsheet.

  3. Onsite Psychiatrist and Detox Support

On arrival you will receive a medical assessment with our onsite GP. If required, our Addiction Specialist will facilitate a medically supervised detox with 24/7 nursing support.

Within your first week you will have a consultation with our onsite psychiatrist who will provide a diagnostic and medication review. This informs your customised treatment plan and you will be matched with your individual therapist for the best possible treatment outcomes.

This approach allows us to address both your mental health and any substance dependency issues in a holistic and integrated manner, providing the best possible foundation for your recovery.

  4. Non-Clinical Environment

Our non-clinical setting provides a safe and supportive space to address PTSD and trauma. Residents enjoy morning beach walks and swims, ample green space, and eco-therapies designed to promote healing and well-being.

Byron Private combines a tranquil natural environment with an integrated and holistic treatment program, offering an alternative to traditional hospital settings.

Enjoy weekend activities such as nature walks, kayaking and beach excursions, all aimed at enhancing your mental and emotional well-being.

  5. Integrated Therapy in a Safe, Supportive and Healing Community

We offer intensive evidence-based therapies in a safe, supportive, and healing environment. Our program provides a nurturing space for connecting with others and your individual therapist.

Individual and group sessions are balanced with complementary therapies like massage, personal training, yoga, meditation, art therapy, and sauna and steam spa sessions. We create a supportive atmosphere with compassionate staff, many who have lived experience in recovery.

Our model of care is built around a modified therapeutic community, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual support among residents. In our small, intimate, non-clinical group setting, you will find the safety and connection needed to recover.
